Vegan ice cream sandwiches are as popular as any of the standard dairy-based ice cream sandwiches. The only difference is that they use no eggs, no dairy, and no butter. This means no milk, no cream, and no butter, just ice cream!
The Basic Ingredients For Vegan Ice Cream
Vegan ice cream is very easy to make. The basic ingredients are non-dairy milk (I use soy milk), low fat or non-fat dairy cream, and flavorings. There are dozens of flavor combinations available. I will give you some examples of my favorite vegan recipes.
Chocolate walnut. Using chocolate-flavored soy milk, peanut butter, and walnuts. It is delicious! All you need to do is melt the chocolate, mix in the peanut butter, and then pour it into the waffle cone. For an extra decadent treat try chocolate fudge!
Almond. To make nut-free, dairy-free ice cream, combine a low fat or non-fat cream cheese with unsweetened almond milk. It can be plain, or you can add nuts to it. You can use nuts such as cashews, pistachios, almonds, or hazelnuts. Just make sure you avoid nuts high in sugar like peanuts and almonds.
Vanilla. Try using vanilla flavored soy milk. It works great, but I like to substitute plain vanilla soy milk. Add vanilla extract to the soy milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, unsweetened stevia, or other sweeteners, and you have a delicious vegan vanilla cream sandwich. If you are looking for a sweeter ice cream sandwich, try using cinnamon, orange zest, or even lemon juice. Just be careful not to add too much sweetener as this can cause diarrhea.
For a tasty cheesecake, treat try to make the base of your sandwich with low fat or non-fat heavy cream cheese. It does not matter if you use whole milk or semi-skimmed milk. Add a couple of teaspoons of vegan vanilla ice cream for more decadence, then add an additional three to four tablespoons of vegan chocolate ice cream for more flavor. You can also add shredded coconut or peanut butter for a salty, chocolate-like flavor.
Avocado. Using soy milk, avocado cream, vegan vanilla ice cream, and fresh lemon juice, you can make an avocado-based vegan ice cream sandwich. Using your favorite place cream cheese, pure peanut butter, and fresh lemon juice, you can create an awesome sandwich. Spread the avocado cream base on the bottom of a waffle cone and top with a nice layer of peanut butter. Drizzle the peanut butter with fresh lemon juice, and drizzle with a small amount of pure vanilla or vegan chocolate -cream.
Chocolate. For a chocolate-based vegan ice cream sandwich try using chocolate-flavored soy milk. Just mix in cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla, and unsweetened chocolate.
Banana. For a banana-based vegan ice cream sandwich, try using banana-flavored soy milk. Add your favorite vanilla-flavored ice cream and banana spread to make a delicious banana chocolate chip ice cream sandwich.
Making your own peanut butter frozen treat is easy! Just add peanut butter to soy milk and vanilla-flavored ice cream and you have a decadent dessert that everyone will love.
Apple. To make an apple based vegan ice cream sandwich, add apple-flavored soy milk, unsweetened apple sauce, apple cider vinegar, non-dairy sour cream, and non-dairy cream cheese. Add a sprinkle of vanilla sugar and voila, a tasty dessert to please everyone!
Vanilla. To make chocolate and vanilla-based vegan cream sandwich, use chocolate-flavored soy milk, vanilla-flavored soy milk, or vanilla-flavored cream cheese, non-dairy cream, and vanilla ice cream. Enjoy a delicious dessert from your own kitchen!
